A veneer is a thin shell — usually porcelain, sometimes composite resin — bonded to the front surface of a tooth to correct its shape, size, or color. Porcelain veneers resist staining better and last longer, typically ten to fifteen years, while composite veneers cost less and can be completed in a single visit.
A thin layer of enamel is typically prepped off before bonding, which is why the process is considered permanent rather than reversible. Before committing, most patients see a preview — either digital or a temporary trial veneer — so there are no surprises with the final look.
Getting veneers doesn't replace the need for normal hygiene — the tooth underneath still needs the same care as any other. Grinding at night is one of the more common reasons veneers chip early, so a nightguard is often recommended alongside the procedure.
You approve the shape and shade digitally before the lab fabricates the final porcelain shells.
Choose long-lasting porcelain or same-day composite bonding depending on budget and timeline.
Some cases qualify for ultra-thin veneers requiring little to no enamel removal.
Veneers are shade-matched to your natural teeth or your desired brighter target shade.
Our network specialists cover the full range of this procedure, from the routine case to the complicated one.
